# DVx Signal — AI at Work 002 — Free ChatGPT got more useful. Claude moved into Slack. Meet saved the slide.

> Free ChatGPT text chats expand, Claude Tag turns Slack into a shared AI workspace, and Google Meet notes can capture presented visuals.

The useful version

## Three changes you can actually feel

ChatGPT gets more useful for free. Claude Tag can take work from a Slack thread. Meet can save presented visuals.

Start with your current access and one checkable task.

01

ChatGPT access

## Free ChatGPT is moving to unlimited text chats

![ChatGPT access map showing Luna unlimited text for Free and Go, and a thought slider with updated Sol for Plus and Pro.](https://blog.dvx.ventures/signals/at-work/002/covers/chatgpt-access.svg)

*DVx access map based on OpenAI’s August 6 product announcement.*

- **What it does** — GPT-5.6 Luna becomes the default for Free and Go. Starting the week of August 10, they get unlimited text chats and a Think button. Plus and Pro received an updated GPT-5.6 Sol and thought slider on August 6.
- **Who gets it / what it costs** — Luna text is included for Free and Go, subject to abuse guardrails. Files, images, and other tools remain limited. Sol and the slider are for Plus and Pro. Work and Codex models do not change.
- **Your move** — Do not upgrade for text volume alone. Use Free or Go until a specific file, image, tool, or higher-reasoning task blocks you.

Access, not API price

### The free limit moved. The tool limits did not.

- **Free and Go** — Luna default, unlimited text, and Think.
- **Still limited** — Files, images, and other tools.
- **Plus and Pro** — Updated Sol and a thought slider.
- **Not changed** — The models used in Work and Codex.

**The decision:** wait for a named tool or reasoning limit before paying to upgrade.

Shared work

## Claude Tag makes a Slack channel a shared AI workspace

*Frame from the official Anthropic demo embedded in its Claude Tag guide. [Open the guide ↗](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/15594475-what-is-claude-tag)*

- **What it does** — On August 3, Claude in Slack switched to Claude Tag. Mention `@Claude` in a channel and it can use approved tools, remember channel context, finish a task, and follow up later.
- **Who gets it / what it costs** — Claude Tag is a Team and Enterprise beta. Channel work is organization consumption. DMs use personal Claude billing. Owners can cap the organization and each channel, with alerts at 75% and 95%. Work above a cap is declined.
- **Your move** — Ask an Owner which channels, tools, memory, and spend caps apply. A DM and a channel mention do not share the same boundary.

Same name, different boundary

### Where you ask changes identity, context, and billing

- **Channel** — Organization identity, shared context, approved tools, organization billing.
- **Direct message** — Personal account, personal tools, personal billing.
- **Admin audit** — Scheduled work, network calls, spend, and retained memory.
- **Spend control** — Organization and channel caps. Alerts at 75% and 95%.

**The decision:** choose the Slack surface as carefully as the prompt.

Primary source: Anthropic. Verified August 10, 2026. Slack and Claude web histories remain separate. Slack retention still applies. Exact consumption prices were not published in the guide.

Meetings

## Google Meet notes can capture the visual, not just the words

- **What it does** — “Take notes for me” can add presented content to the notes. That preserves context when someone says “this number” without describing the slide.
- **Who gets it / what it costs** — Rollout began August 3 and can take 15 days. It is included for Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Google AI Pro for Education. No separate price was announced.
- **Your move** — Presenters get a notice and can disable capture. Ask whether your admin allows it always or only with recording. Start with a non-sensitive meeting.

What changes in the artifact

### The slide now travels with the sentence about it

Meeting

#### Words + slides

People speak while content is presented.

Gemini notes

#### Text + screenshots

The notes can preserve both forms of context.

Before sharing

#### Human review

Check sensitive visuals, decisions, and owners.

**The decision:** use visual capture when the slide carries meaning that the transcript cannot.

Primary source: Google Workspace. Verified August 10, 2026. Availability depends on eligible plan and gradual rollout. Admin policy and presenter choice can prevent capture.

Before you upgrade

## Find the block before the plan

1. **Name it** Volume, files, tools, team controls, or quality?
2. **Check the surface** Channel, DM, and chat can use different identity, memory, and billing.
3. **Save proof** Keep one reviewed output that justifies the price.

15-minute try

## Compare Luna and Think on one public paragraph

1. **Source** Paste one public product-announcement paragraph.
2. **Luna** Ask for the decision, date, eligible users, limit, and next action.
3. **Think** Ask it to identify ambiguity or missing evidence.
4. **Check** Spend five minutes comparing both answers with the source.

Keep the simpler mode if it is accurate. Do not use sensitive material.

Term without the jargon

## Consumption-based

You pay for usage, not only seats. A shared channel can create organization spend without adding a person.

## Price and availability ledger

| --- | --- | --- |
| ChatGPT Luna and Sol access | Free, Go, Plus, and Pro as described above. | Free text access expands. Tool limits remain. |

**Verification notes**

- Research covered August 3 through August 9. Links, plans, dates, billing boundaries, and rollout notes were checked August 10.
